Discussing school reading books as part of Polish language classes does not have to be boring! Second graders know this very well. As part of the pedagogical innovation, the students finished discussing the book by Mrs. Alicja Ungenheuer-GoĆÄ b “Zimowe przygody JeĆŒyka spod jabĆoni”. Students illustrated the main character, created posters, played dramatic scenes, played quizzes using new technologies. They also prepared snacks for the birds in our garden. And most interestingly, they became reporters! As befits real journalists, they made a series of questions for the author of our reading. During the online meeting with Mrs Alicja, we learnt more about her life and work and asked all our questions. Class 2 is already excited to know when the next part of Hedgehog’s adventures will be available.Â
